Meet the Team
Abbey - Head Trainer & Owner
I have been training dogs since I was just 9 years old, when my parents got me the dog I had been dreaming of my entire life. The rest is history!
I started training and competing in agility at a very young age, and over the years began accumulating more dogs, climbing up the grades and soaking up as much knowledge as I could. When I left school, Pawticular Training was officially born and I offered agility training from 2016 until 2022. During this time, as well as agility, I also helped clients with challenges they were facing with their dogs and had the opportunity to work with hundreds of dogs.
In 2019, I qualified as a Mantrailing UK (now Mantrailing Global) instructor, and added that to my list of offerings. Again, I had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful dog and handler teams and loved helping owners find such a fantastic outlet for their dogs.
In 2022, after finishing our agility career competing at Crufts, I took a step away from agility. It was then that I developed a keen interest in taking the business in a different direction and helping owners fix the day-to-day problems that have a huge impact on their lives.
So, Pawticular Training moved from sports to pet dog training and I haven't looked back. Of course, I have been helping owners work through reactivity, recall and other issues since I started back in 2016, but this became my primary focus, and it still is today.
I currently share my life with 3 wonderful dogs. Maisie is my 10 year old border collie, Hoax is my 4 year old border collie and then I have a 3 year old kelpie, Evo.
We don't compete these days, however I still own active, working breeds, so we spend lots of time dabbling in various sports. We enjoy canicross, and my boys completed a (long) half marathon in the Brecon Beacons with me earlier in the year. Hoax trained up as a sheepdog and enjoys working, plus we also dabble in bitesports and scent work. We love hiking, and I enjoy summer trips to the Alps with the dogs.
I also share my life with 2 very naughty ragdoll cats, 7 sheep and 3 cheeky pygmy goats. There isn't ever a dull moment!
Rachael - Trainer
Rachel has extensive experience now, working with a range of behavioural issues. She got into dog training as she had been facing issues with her own dogs, so set out on a journey to learn how to improve their lives.
She started shadowing me in the early part of this year, and has now started taking on her own walk and train clients.
